Blooming Good Times - Digital Photography Competition
The Hidden Treasures of the Great Southern (HTGS) is seeking images that show the impressions of the 2017 Bloom Festival, in particular individual events, activities, patrons and presenters and the overall Hidden Treasures region.
The competition is for digital images only. All entries must be submitted electronically via the following portals:

- Albanygateway Facebook Page
There will be variety of prizes with the main prize being $250.
COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Entry to the Blooming Good Times Digital Photography Competition is free.
Submitted photographs must be taken within the Hidden Treasures region and during the 2017 Bloom Festival (15 Sep – 15 Oct 2017). The competition closes 29 October 2017 5pm.
The Hidden Treasures region incorporates the nine shires of Broomehill-Tambellup, Cranbrook, Gnowangerup, Jerramungup, Katanning, Kent, Kojonup, Plantagenet and Woodanilling.
Only those photographs correctly identified and entered using the official online portals and abiding by these Terms and Conditions will be accepted for judging.
The HTGS and albanygateway.com.au do not accept any liability for lost, delayed or incomplete entries.
Photographs will be moderated before being displayed on the albanygateway and Hidden Treasures websites and albanygateway & Hidden Treasures Facebook page. No undertaking is given that all photographs entered will be published on the sites.
Entry is possible via online entry portals from Wednesday 20th September 2017:
- Albanygateway website - www.albanygateway.com.au . Entries must include a completed official entry form.
- Hidden Treasures Facebook Page - @HiddenTreasuresGreatSouthern by uploading images on the Photo Comp App. Entries must include name of photographer, location, date and title of the image.
- Albany Gateway Facebook Page – @Albanygateway by uploading images on the Photo Comp App. Entries must include name of photographer, location, date and title of the image
- Hidden Treasures Instagram – HiddenTreasuresGreatSouthern by uploading images with Hashtag #Bloominggoodtimes. Entries must include name of photographer, location, date and title of the image.
All entries must be submitted as a digital file either attached to the entry form on albanygateway.com.au or uploaded to listed social media sites. HTGS reserves the right to request high resolution images for any photos submitted via website or social media portals.
Images should be taken at the maximum resolution your camera allows. A resolution of at least 5 megapixels is preferred and the final file size should be between 1MB and 5MB.
Entries must be 100 per cent photographic in origin. Composite images are ineligible. All aspects of the image must be the work of the entrant, including post-production work.
There is no limit to how many times you can enter however each image submitted must be on the official entry form or via the social media app. Entries cannot be returned.
Employees and contractors of HTGS, the Board of Management of HTGS, members of the official judging panel and the employees, contractors and Management & Staff of albanygateway.com.au and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.
Entrants in the competition agree that HTGS & albanygateway.com.au reserve the right to use all images entered in the competition for on-going promotional and marketing purposes to improve awareness and understanding of HTGS activities. This may include display on the HTGS & albanygateway.com.au internet site, in publications, in a public exhibition, as part of a poster or other means. HTGS & albanygateway.com.au may choose to display some or all photographs entered in this competition. Images may be used in whole or in part or as part of a collage. Colours and shapes may be altered.
Entrants in the competition agree to allow any or all of their submitted photographs to be displayed on the albanygateway.com.au website during the competition period. Display is at the discretion of the moderator.
Ownership of the image will remain with the photographer. By entering the competition, you agree that all rights to payment for copyright, royalty or any other purpose are waived for each and every photograph entered. All efforts will be made to provide appropriate acknowledgement of the photographer whenever photographs are used.
Entrants warrant that they are the owner of all copyright in the submitted photograph(s).
Where a photograph entered in the competition includes the image of a person other than the entrant, then the entrant warrants that he or she has obtained all necessary permissions from that other person (or in the case of a child, that child’s parents or lawful guardian) for the image to be used in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The entrant indemnifies HTGS against all damages, losses, costs and expenses incurred by HTGS arising out of any failure by the entrant to obtain the permissions mentioned above.
Entries from persons under the age of 18 must have adult consent. If a winner is under the age of 18, the prize will be awarded to a parent or guardian.
The winners will be those entries declared by the HTGS Judging Panel to be so. Photographs will be judged on their relationship to the theme, composition, technical merits and originality. The outcome of the competition is final. No correspondence will be entered into except with eligible prize winners.
HTGS reserve the right to substitute, terminate, withdraw, suspend or cancel any portion of the competition and/or any component of the prize at any time, without notice, for any reason whatsoever in their sole discretion. The winner is responsible for any and all taxes payable as a result of a prize being awarded or received. These competition Terms and Conditions may be changed at any time by HTGS without notice.
