Tropical Cyclone Alby passed close to the southwest corner of WA on 4 April 1978 killing five people and causing widespread damage to the southwest. The damage bill was estimated to be $39 million (2003 dollars).

Join us as author Roger Underwood who was the Incident Controller at the time takes us through the unimaginable where power lines were down, telephones were out and high frequency radios unusable. With roads blocked by fallen debris and forest fires, the entire region was paralyzed.

How did people cope and what have we learned since? Hear about the innumerable accounts of courage and rescue.

Copies of the Book are available for sale with proceeds going to The Bushfire Front, an organisation of volunteer bushfire specialists.
