Wellstead Primary School – a small and vibrant school with 2 full-time and three part-time staff. When children reach secondary school age they have a choice of continuing as day students at Jerramungup which is 80km east of Wellstead and takes students to year 10, or boarding in Albany, Perth or various secondary Agricultural Colleges. Amity Hostel in Albany is well sited for students going to Albany Senior High School, and will also bus students to other Albany schools. |

Wellstead Community Resource Centre – is open to Community Members, Visitors and Tourists and whoever else wants to come and have a look. There are Historical and Heritage native animal displays, artwork, displays and some computer games for kids.

| Community & Sporting Facilities |
Wellstead Community Hall currently badly in need of a planned kitchen upgrade, the hall is large enough for to hold dances, and has done many times in the past.

Sports Oval – conveniently next to the Hall, the oval is used for cricket and football in season, and for interschool sports. |

| Cape Riche Camping Ground |
Just 15 minutes from Wellstead you can camp or day vist the beautiful Cape Riche in a 2WD vehicle. Basic toilets and showers are at the campsite. There is a beautiful swimming beach and barbeques are available. Bookings or enquiries phone 08 9847 3088.
