The Town of Kendenup is located four Kilometres East of Albany Highway, on the tourist drive to the scenic Stirling Ranges.
The tourists’ drive commences at Albany Highway, travels down Beverley Road, along Hassell Avenue through the township of Kendenup continuing over the railway line to Red Gum Pass Road and Stirling Range Drive, to reach the panoramic views of Bluff Knoll and Mt Trio.
Agriculture in the area consists of cereal crops such as wheat, barley, canola, oats and some sunflowers. Cattle and sheep are farmed for wool and meat production.
Maize, Olives, herbs, gourmet vegetable gardens and fish farming are new industries in the district.
Viticulture is a relatively new industry to the area but is going ahead with leaps and bounds. Gilbert’s Winery is a well-known winery in the Kendenup area with their wine being exported to Asia. |
