West Arthur Telecentre Programs

We currently run a library volunteer program. This involves organising books, tidying of shelves, labelling and data entry on the computer. There is a monthly exchange of old and new books, and any help is greatly appreciated. Volunteers will be involved in an important service in the community.

We are also offering work experience to people who would like to learn reception skills such as answering phones, taking messages, photocopying, filing and data entry.

If anyone would like to join our programs or do work experience, they are welcome to come and talk to the coordinator about participating.

The Telecentre is a non-profit association managed by a Management Committee elected from members.  If you are interested in joining our dynamic team and have a say in how your local telecentre is managed, please contact us.

The Telecentre receives funding from the Department of Local Government and Regional Development, which is topped up with fee for service and contract income, corporate sponsorship and community fundraising.

Membership is open in the following categories - Individual, Family, Club/Non-Profit, Business, with concession rates for healthcard holders, youth and seniors.  Members receive discounts on all services and products, as well as getting a say in how the Telecentre is run.

The Telecentre is constantly looking for new initiatives that benefit our community.   As a consequence we have taken on the role of agent ("Gopher") for Albany Gateway in the Shire of West Arthur.  We believe Albany Gateway is an excellent community website, which will give us easy access to the world wide web.  We will be encouraging local contributions that promote our Shire and community and will be working to enable local businesses to gain exposure on this marvellous medium.
