Where is Torbay? Torbay is located on the South Coast Highway: What is Torbay like? Torbay is the name given to the scenic area between Albany and Denmark which encompasses the small communities of Elleker, Bornholm and Youngs Siding as well as the Torbay locality. This area contains the southernmost point in Western Australia, Torbay Head, which is a key feature of West Cape Howe National Park. The coastal scenery throughout the area is spectacular – high cliffs interspersed with pretty beaches, granite outcrops surrounded by coastal heathland. Inland, deep valleys run parallel to the coast behind the high sand dunes and contain lush farming country and natural bushland Torbay is a productive agricultural area, mainly used for dairying and beef cattle production. There are a wide range of horticultural crops grown in the Torbay area including strawberries, blueberries, fuchsias, potatoes and many other vegetables. Torbay is also a key fishing centre with a fishing camp still operating at Cosy Corner and Shelley beaches. There are limited services available in the townships of Elleker and Youngs Siding. The earliest settlers in the area farmed near Youngs Siding and Marbelup Farm on Wilson Inlet is one of the oldest farming properties in WA.
