Surfing in Albany Print E-mail

Albany provides a consistent range of surfing & bodyboarding options for the beginners through to the seasoned campaigners.

Middleton beach, close to town is perfect for the kids & beginners. Nanarup & Muttonbird beaches offer more consistent surf which can entertain the more experienced surfers. This is the case especially in water when the swell is up and the wind is from the north.

During the summer months as the smaller swells & north-east winds prevail Muttonbird & Sandpatch (near the wind farm) can provide consistent surf waves with the latter being better suited for experienced surfers.

Further out of town Parry's beach, Ocean beach and Cheynes beach provide other options for those wanting to explore the coastline around the south coast.

Surfing in the Great Southern can be challenging and rewarding. Take care, know your limits and enjoy surfing on the south coast.
