Jerramungup is located on the Southern Highway:
• 440 km south east of Perth
• 175 km east of Albany
What is Jerramungup like?
Jerramungup is a small town servicing a diverse agricultural area supporting the production of sheep, wool, cattle and grains. The population of the town is approximately 332.
Jerramungup is adjacent to the wild and beautiful Fitzgerald River National Park, a bio-diversity hot spot.
There are limited services in Jerramungup. There is a supermarket, roadhouse and hotel.
A little bit of history
Jerramungup derives its name from the Aboriginal name meaning 'place of the tall yate trees'.
The town of Jerramungup was established in 1953 as a war service settlement area. Though only a relatively young farming and agriculture region, the area is rich in history and proud of its heritage.
