Santa’s 3 ton Bedford

dsc00023Santa drives that three ton Bedford, parked behind the pub.

It’s loaded up with toys and beer, and chock-a-block with grub.

It’s got a big tarp over it, so kids like us can’t see.

Let’s sneak in gang, and take the torch. No worries, you’re with me.

We’ll squeeze in, there’s just ten of us. Remember ‘Silent Night’.

‘Cause Christmas Eve, the pub is full, with adults packed in tight.

Santa and our ‘helper’ Dads, are into a round of beers.

There’s ten good men who’ll shout one each, to help spread Christmas cheers.

Communities Without Borders

It’s so easy to take for granted the daily comforts and pleasures that we can provide for our children and  families. After all, we live in a country which is well insulated against appalling famine, dire poverty and rampant AIDS. It is also hard to imagine how we can possibly make a difference to many African countries where a whole generation of AIDs orphans is facing a life without families, food, love and hope. (more…)

Ringwould Jaguar and Sonja Johnson Olympics update

We have news from Gussie Saunders;
Saturday 9th August
 The first dressage session started at 6.30 a.m & we were warned to be there early in order to get through security screening in time. The first party went off at 4 a.m., & rang us to ask if we were coming too. Not quite that early after a late night, but not much later, we set off be train, changed train, & shuttle bus to get there in good time for the first competitor.

A cheque for $41,000 from Lotterywest will allow work to proceed on the redevelopment of Albany Gateway to secure it’s position as premier internet portal for residents and visitors alike seeking access to online information about Albany and the Great Southern.
