Win at Royal Melbourne Show
I can’t resist telling you all about the latest success of our Ringwould Cendre, it has won a Gold Medal at the Royal Melbourne Show!!
It was among 21 entries in class 57 for “Fresh Unripened, including Marscapone, Neufchatel, Quark etc” & three gold medals were awarded, the others being Fonterra’s Mainland K-Style Cream Cheese and Bulla Low Fat Cottage Cheese & Chives. Rather a David & Goliath situation, & we now have to wait until 21st September for the placings. I will be on my way to America on the 21st, but I will be able to send you an email once I get there. It is a great achievement even to come third in such a large class of established, professional, cheese-makers.
Toni & John have done tremendously well to have reached such a high standard in their first eighteen months of cheese-making; Champion Non-Bovine at the WA DIAA Awards, finalist in the Produce Awards, & now a Gold Medal in the capital of dairy production in Australia. I know this is only the start of a great career in cheese-making and look forward to many more successes.
The gold medal in WA DIAA awards has already entitled the Cendre to enter the Grand Champion of Australia Dairy Awards which will be judged in November, so now we have another entitlement, and more confidence in our ability to succeed.
I hope you have all enjoyed eating the Cendre and other Ringwould cheeses, and will do so again in the future, we have Lots of milk now!
Kind Regards,
Augusta Saunders
