New Year Resolutions – or the annual passing phase. By Anne Simpson

Do you ever stick to your new year resolutions for more than a few weeks/ days? I am hopeless but love hearing what other people plan for a fresh start from January 1 – or 2 or whenever….

The usual ones include losing weight, getting fit, more exercise, washing up breakfast straight after breakfast, making the beds every morning and so on. Nothing overly challenging really, but in my case, rarely achieved.

Here are a few others I have garnered over the past few days from various friends :

Tidy wardrobe and drawers and throw out clothes that haven’t been worn for several years, or which have shrunk; sort the 409 recipes torn from magazines, keep 10; remove all Christmas decorations before June, even the bit of tinsel draped over the clock; step outside your comfort zone and do at least ONE new things -  go on a cruise, visit somewhere new, meet new friends, wear very high heels, take up pole dancing; sing loudly, smile a lot, like yourself better and celebrate your curves if you can’t lose them; fall in love;  hug friends and family often; colour your hair (if you still have any) and learn how to apply mascara properly; learn how tweet on Twitter – and how to switch off your laptop/mobile phone and smell the roses – and maybe even weed the garden while you’re out there!

What are your resolutions for 2010? We’d love to hear, the more original the better, but still achievable!  And a Happy New Year to everyone – and even if all your resolutions fail, make sure you laugh loud and often and with a friend! If you want a few extra chuckles go to www.annesimpson.com.au
