OUR PHILOSOPHY
Albany PCYC Out of School Care is a child-focused service where:
•    Children are encouraged to develop to their full potential with-in a safe, friendly, caring and supportive environment which encourages their citizenship skills and a sense of belonging to the service.
•    Children’s Rights are recognised and upheld; Children, families and staff are treated as equal and valued as individuals.
•    The importance of play is valued and children’s ideas and opinions are sought and utilised.

Our Aim: As a team at Albany Out of School Care we aim to fulfil our Philosophy by providing a welcoming relaxed child orientated environment which would be a safe, comfortable place where children have choice from a range of activities which are targeted at individual’s needs and interests. All children will be treated with dignity and respect. The concept of equal opportunity will be promoted in all aspects of operating the service. Our service also aims to reflect our local community by encouraging parent participation and discussion relevant to the running of the service.

STAFF
Our staff has a strong commitment to providing a safe, stimulating, and positive environment, which fosters children’s development and enjoyment. Staff are selected for their training, experience, and for their suitability to promote the service philosophy and uphold all policies and procedures. Staff are encouraged to further their training by undertaking formal studies and attends In-Service Training.

HOURS OF OPERATION & RATES
After School Program – Hours of operation are 3pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday during school term excluding public holidays.

Fees per Child: (without Childcare Benefit)
1.    Daily    $18.00 per session
2.    Casual    $23.00 per session
3.    Bus pick up and afternoon tea $10.00 per session
4.    Bus only for SEA or Gym $6.00 per session

Vacation Care Program – Hours of operation are 7.45am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday during school holidays-excluding public holidays.

Fees per Child: (without Childcare Benefit)
1. Daily $40.00 per session
2. Half Days $30.00 per session
Child Care benefit is to be claimed from Centrelink.

Morning sessions run from 8.00am to 1.00pm.
Afternoon sessions run from 1.00pm to 6.00pm.

PROGRAMS
Our weekly programs aim to meet individual needs and interests of children whilst taking into account all areas of Play. We value children’s ideas/opinions and they are encouraged to take part in the development of our programs. We understand the importance of providing children with choices suited to their ages/stages and so along with specific indoor and outdoor experiences, there are always a variety of free choice activities such as Colouring-In, Lego, Dress-Ups, Board Games, Collage, and Outside Play etc.

Our programs are always on show for the children or adults to view. We welcome parent input and value cultural influences.

EXCURSIONS
Excursions are often included in our programs. Parents will be well advised of any excursions and will be required to fill in a Parent Excursion Permission Form. This form lets you know; Where the children are going, Time of Departure and Return, Who will be accompanying the children, Mode of transport, and the driver, Emergency contact number. Children are supervised at all times during excursions. Our Adult-Child Ratio is 1:10 (1 Adult to 10 Children), which is to be in place at all times. First Aid Requirements is 1:39 (1 Adult to 39 Children) at all times. On all Excursions we always plan the essentials such as toilets, water taps, and shaded areas. Please remember our SUNCARE POLICY on excursion days. On excursions we take a list of all children, Parent Emergency contact numbers, First Aid Kit, Wet Ones & Tissues, Water, Sun Hats/Sunscreen and a Mobile Phone.
