New Features!

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the recent redevelopment and consequent limited use. But it wasn't in vain! Albany GateWAy is now full of new features and changes that we'd love to share with you.

Faster Speeds

We've updated the site design to improve loading time, as well as including high quality images. Our rendering engines have all been updated to give us faster animations and movement, as well as better support for future browsers. Other features we have added include browser caching and file compression which allows up to 8x faster download speeds of content.

None of that made sense? Don't worry, all you need to know is that you as the end user will experience faster speeds with the same, if not higher, quality you've grown to love!

My GateWAy Dashboard

Everytime you log in, you will be presented with Your Profile, enabling you to view all your business directory listings, classified ads, events and articles all at the same time and in the one easy place.

If you are a subscriber to newsletters through Albany GateWAy (which is one of the great new features we'll talk about in a second) you can also manage these from here too.

There are also links here for you to add new directory listings, calendar events and to edit your contact details.You can also choose an avatar (either from our list or upload a photo of your own) which will be used throughout the site to represent you.

Commenting System

You will notice that at the bottom of articles, an Add Comment section will start appearing throughout the site.

This is designed for you, user of Albany GateWAy, to get more involved in the site - commenting on articles, asking questions, passing on your experiences to others.

Photo Gallery System

The Photo Gallery has been updated - with a new 5 Star Voting system up and running so you can vote for your favourite photos - and comment on them too.

Newsletters

Business and Community Organisations are now able to place a function on their listing enabling people to register for newletters and/ or mailing lists. Through Albany GateWAy, you can now create an email to send out  and it will be sent to the users on your list when you request. People can opt in or out at any time through their Dashboard settings.

Business Directory Updates

Most of the updates to the directory have been ironing our little bugs and errors, but you will notice faster speeds throughout and better Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) with your listing. Watch your listing climb on Google!

Classifieds Updates

The biggest change in the Classifieds is the addition of SEO features that mean that your ad can be found via Google! You might also notice some design changes and improvements throughout.

Calendar Updates (COMING SOON!)

Soon users will be able to use the GateWAy Calendar to not only advertise their events, but to send out invitations and create guest/ attendee lists. Watch this space for more information!
