ONGERUP-NEEDILUP  DISTRICT  MUSEUM  -  Natural history, aboriginal foods, machinery and household displays housed in original railway barracks.

 

WILDFLOWER SHOW  IN  SPRINGTIME -  Botanically named wildflowers displayed at the museum for two weeks during the springtime. 

 

LOCAL FLORA  AND  FAUNA  -  Wildflowers on roadsides, reserves and walk trails around the town.  Large salmon gums and  low growing scented Ongerup wattle on the eastern entrance to town.  

 

FARMING  ACTIVITIES  -  See Shearing,seeding and harvest in action on the farm and grain trucks during summer delivering their loads to the CBH bins. 

 

YONGERGNOW AUSTRALIAN MALLEEFOWL CENTRE - The headquarters for this unique bird's preservation is situated in Jaekel Street, opened to the public on 15th February 2007 after seven long years of tireless work by a volunteer committee. Walk through natural mallee bushland & experience the Malleefowl as they constantly tend to their nest mound with powerful feet (Aug -Apr). Outside the aviary, you are welcome to enjoy the other bird life, fauna & flora around the Centre  Information, postcards, t-shirts and other related items are available.

 

SPORTING  FACILITIES - The town has sporting ovals, tennis courts, bowling green and a golf course for everyone's enjoyment

 

WEIR  PARK - A children's playground in the centre of town with skateboard track, basketball ring and play equipment.  A gazebo houses a picnic table and chairs, a gas barbeque, solar lighting for those "Summer Evening BBQ's" and drink fountain is being built soon.
