GOING FISHING - HERE ARE A FEW PLACES TO TRY

  BEWARE OF KING WAVES WHEN FISHING FROM ROCKS
Denmark is renowned for it' s fishing. Listed below are a few of the beaches and fishing spots where you might like to try your luck while holidaying in Denmark. Most but not all places listed below are well signed.  


McGEARY' S ROCK

A popular fishing spot approximately 11km from town.Travel down Ocean Beach Road until you come to the main car park on the left-hand side. Continue on up the limestone hill and take the second turn to the left. Species caught at McGeary' s include herring, skippy, sand whiting, samson, mulloway, salmon, and silver bream.

 FLAT ROCK

A good rock to fish from. Travel down Ocean Beach Road to the main car park. From there, walk down to the beach and turn right, towards the rocks and follow the track behind the rocks. This is a good place to catch herring, skippy, sand whiting, silver bream, and salmon.

 WILSON INLET

One for the boaties.

One of the biggest inlets on the South Coast, produces great catches of King George whiting, flathead, bay snapper, cobbler, and other species.

 LIGHTS BEACH

Offers beach and rock fishing. Approximately 8km down Ocean Beach Road turn right into Lights Road and travel 5km, then take the first turn on the left. Continue on this road to the parking area. Fish caught in this area have been mainly skippy, herring, and silver bream

 WILLIAM BAY

If you re looking for King George whiting then Elephant Rock area is the place to have a go. Travel along South Coast Highway the 15km to William Bay. When you arrive at the T junction, turn
left onto a gravel road about 50m along, turn right and drive to car park.
A short walk of about 500m will take you to Elephant Rocks.

Waterfall Beach and Mad Fish Bay are two other good spots to try while in the William Bay area. From the T junction turn left onto the gravel road and proceed until you come to the turn off to Waterfall Beach. About 1km further along is Madfish Bay. Both places have yielded herring, skippy, silver bream, whiting and salmon.

 PARRYS BEACH

About 26km west of Denmark, along South Coast Highway, is a spot where you can fish off flat rocks with relative safety and also take the 4WD around the beach. Fishing in this area can produce herring, skippy, silver bream, salmon and also the chance of mulloway, samson or shark.

 HILLIERS BEACH

Drive towards Parrys but keep straight on to the gravel road. Drive a short distance, park vehicle and walk down to beach. Mainly herring, skippy and sand whiting are the species to be found here.

 BOAT HARBOUR

(4WD only): Situated 29 km west of Denmark. Turn left off South Coast Highway and follow track in for about 10km. Fish here for herring, skippy, sand whiting and silver bream.

 PEACEFUL BAY

Situated 44km west of Denmark. Turn left off South Coast Highway onto Peaceful Bay road to beach and turn left onto beach. Has been good for herring, silver bream, whiting, salmon and rock species.

 CONSPICUOUS BEACH

Next best fishing spot on from Peaceful Bay and situated 51km west of Denmark. Fish caught here include herring, silver bream, sand whiting and salmon.
