West Arthur Youth Advisory Committee The Youth Advisory Council is a forum for young people to advise the Government directly about issues facing young people and ways to address these issues. The YAC is also able to source funding for development of facilities and/or events such as skateboard parks, concerts, education/ employment activities. | Arthur River Hall Committee A group of local people who make ensure the historical hall is maintained and kept clean and tidy. It is available for hire for seminars, meetings and functions. |
| Duranillin Hall Committee Horley St, Duranillin. Volunteers who manage the provision of a venue for meetings and functions for local and other outside groups or individualls. |
| Duranillin Health Clinic Committee The Duranillin Health Clinic is used by local mothers for their appointments with the Child Health Nurse. It has been open since 1957. Local volunteers maintian clinic and garden. Telephone Child Health Nurse on (08) 9885 1006. |
| Duranillin School Restoration Committee The group aims to preserve the school as an example of the ‘one teacher’ country school, as they existed in rural areas of WA in the past. |
| Duranillin Townscape A group of enthusiastic Duranillin locals who are keen to maintian and improve the townscape of Duranillin. |
Lake Towerrinning Strategic Planning Moodiarrup Sports Complex. The Lake Towerrinning Strategic Planning Committee was responsible for the compilation of the Lake Towerrinning Strategic/Management Plan. The group consists of Shire, CALM, Dept of Transport, landowners, local business and Tourist Group. The main focus of the group now is to administer and update the plan. | Moodiarrup Hall Committee, Arthur River Rd, Moodiarrup. Responsible for the upkeep of Moodiarrup Hall. Hall available for hire, comprising large room, chairs, tables, stove. Accommodates 150-200 people. |
| West Arthur Wildflower & Plant Group The aim of the group is to create an Herbarium of pressed specimens of all flora within the Shire, both of native and introduced species, for public identification. The Herbarium is located in the West Arthur Library, and is linked to the Perth Herbarium through the Regional Herbaria Scheme. | Darkan P&C Association aims to: a) provide a community voice to the Education Department; b) raise funds to improve the school facilities; c) assist in the running of the school through its various committees, eg school bus, canteen, council, swimming pool, pre primary, sports, catering. | Darkan Play Group Burrowes St, Darkan Play Group is run on Thursdays from 9.00am - 11.30am during school term at the old pre-primary centre. For children 0-4 years old and their parents/carers. |
| Parenting Group This is a group of local parents with children from 0-4 years old who get together at each others house, once a fortnight for a cuppa and a chat with other parents. A very relaxed atmosphere for the children to play and parents to talk, no stress, commitments or cost. Everyone is most welcome to come along. |

| Darkan Anglican Church Local Committee Uniting Church, Hillman St, Darkan. 2nd Sunday of month 7:30am and 4th Sunday of month 10:30am. Aims to bring the Word of the Lord to the people. Voluntary Groups |
| The Bleat Newspaper The Bleat Newspaper is a voluntary organisation to help provide information to the Shire of West Arthur. This includes advertising businesses, coming events, church rosters, community services, classifieds and other information of interest. The Bleat is always looking for volunteers to help collate the paper & assist with typing, printing & assembling. The Bleat is published Monday fortnightly. Click here to email. |
| Collie to Darkan Rail Trail Group Inc. The friends of the group was set up in August 2000 with the objective of constructing a trail for hikers, cyclists and horse riders along the disused railway line between Collie and Darkan. The group aims to achieve these objectives with funds from the Lotteries Commission/Trailswest Funding Program, volunteer labour from its members and assistance from the Shires of West Arthur and Collie. Once construction is complete, the group will be responsible for maintaining the trail. Anyone wishing to assist in any way or to become a member, is most welcome. Membership is $10 per annum and the group meets on the third Thursday of each month at the Buckingham Hall. |

Our CWA branch is part of a worldwide organisation which strives to improve facilities and opportunities for rural dwellers and, though non-political, is held in high esteem by Government authorities, in an advisory capacity. |
