Frankland is widely known as a wine producing area, with a number of vineyards and winerys. Cranbrook is in the early stages of developing and producing with only a few vineyards, one with cellar sales.

Whilst in Frankland visit some of Australia's award winning wineries that are renowned for their fresh and fruity whites and full bodied reds.

Wineries to visit are: Alkoomi, Frankland Estate, Marribrook, Old Kent River and Benachie. Other vineyards in the area are: Houghtons, Ferngrove, Vintage Park, Acacia Ridge, Hadley Hall, Wilson' s Pool, Frankland Valley Vineyard, Frankland River Vineyards and Powderbark Ridge. These are all impressive to drive around and see just how much of the Frankland area is planted into grapes.

In Cranbrook, "Trevelen Farm Wines" is situated off the Albany Highway on Weir Rd, 1km north or the Gordon River Bridge. The cellar sales outlet looks out across the vineyard to the picturesque Stirling Ranges.

Trevelen Farm Wines are made by Alkoomi of Frankland and the wines reflect the ideal growing conditions of the area as well as the expertise of the Alkoomi wine maker.

To this time each wine style and vintage of Trevelen Farm has received awards, from "Best White in the Great Southern Region" (1998 Riesling) to gold, silver and bronze medals for other varieties.  The recent Boutique Wine Awards of Australia saw three out of four Trevelen Farm entries receive medals.

Cellar Open:  10am - 4.30pm Thursday to Monday - any other time by appointment.
