To See and Do in Broomehill |
The Great Southern Railway was completed in 1889. In 1893 John Holland with his mates cut a trail from Broomehill to the Gold Fields near Coolgardie. The Gold Rush in the area created a need for people to get to the Goldfields as fast & safe as possible. So they traveled by Ship to Albany, caught a train to Broomehill and then pushed their wheelbarrows, rode their horses etc, along the Holland Track to Coolgardie before staking their claim. | |
The Holland Track is a 4-wheel drive track that is being opened up again, so come and see Broomehill and start a 3-4 day adventure. Ring the Shire 08 98241245 and Peter Fitzgerld can tell you all, or go to the Tourism Page
