Art, Craft & Design in Broomehill WEDDING   FLOWER   DESIGNS Helen Bignell is another local artist with talent in floristry. Her studio is based on a property, 15km east of Broomehill, where she has a magnificent array of garden flowers and plants, to supply some of her floristry materials. Helen has recently specialised in the area of bridal floristry. Her skills have been enhanced by the completion of a twenty week course, conducted by a German bridal specialist, Eva Marie Herb, of Flower Design School in Perth. There are many styles to chose, and these can be created in fresh, silk or dried materials. Freeze drying and framing are available if desired. All budgets are catered for.      The House of Davlyn A mixture of copper foil pieces, leadlight windows, woodwork, mirrors and macadamia trees come together in The House of Davlyn. Lynn and David Dilley have set up their cluster of creations on a hobby farm on the southern outskirts of Broomehill town. Lynn has spent the past 8 years perfecting her leadlighting and copper foiling crafts. Some of the items which adorn their home include: A leadlight window in the bathroom depicting a mermaid seascape. Three dimensional mirrors in a range of sizes. Copper foil mobiles featuring fishes, witches, shapes, etc. Lynn delights in teaching the art of copper foiling to the Year 7 students at Broomehill Primary School. They make mobiles with silver or antique-look finishes. Lynn makes various pieces of jewellery for herself using the copper foiling method. Working with paper toll and French knitting are two more of Lynn' s talents. Her husband David concentrates on woodworking, and their 5-year-old crop of macadamia nut trees should start reaping the couple some financial rewards in the next 2-3 years. A selection of Lynn's creations will be displayed on her stand at this year s Broomehill Aquafest in September.
