Joy Hearn is the principal of the Albany Ballroom Dance Studio. She began ballroom dancing at 9 years of age in England. After moving to Western Australia at the age of 18 years she found the Wrightson Dance Studio where she turned professional and met her late husband. Together they danced competitively and eventually took on the task of running the Midland Wrightson Dance Studio for Robert Wrightson. Owing to the Depression, and work commitments, they moved to the country and opened a studio in Narrogin. In 1973 they moved to Albany. Joy has enjoyed many years of training dancers competitively and for medal tests, socially, debutantes, wedding couples, and kids just for fun.
