About the Region. |

|
Wadjekanup River Wines takes its name from the river that runs through the property, one of the headwaters of the Frankland River. Broomehill is located approx 320 km south east of Perth WA on the Great Southern Highway.
The vineyard is owned and managed by the Witham family as part of a diverse farming operation, including Wool, Prime Lambs, Cattle, Grain and Yabbies. Planted in 1995 to Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc , the vineyard now has 20 acres under vines with 2 acres of Merlot planted in 1998. - the 3 favourite wines of the owners.
Great flavours are being produced due to the unique inland climate of Broomehill. The vineyard is planted on Marri type soils and has a northerly aspect at an elevation of 360m above sea level, and combines with the sunny days and cool nights to produce a unique wine. The vineyard is situated on the same latitude as Margaret River.
We aim to produce unique quality wines for the premium market. Our winemaker is Micheal Staniford of Alkoomi Wines Frankland W.A. All fruit is grown on the property, producing 25 tonnes (1200 cases) of grapes, so we are able to concentrate on quality ... |
