When Mark and Kahleisha Burridge decided they needed a seachange- they never would have guessed how much they would have impacted Albany and its martial arts community. After being in partnership with his brother for the past 15 years Mark and Kahleisha decided to start a new chapter in their lives by starting Dragon Martial Arts, Albany. The club, run by Mark and Kahleisha Burridge, is the first full-time, fully equipped mixed martial arts school in Albany. The school has been open just over one year and has grown to 150 students; averaging 300 student visits a week. Mark and Kahleisha feel the quick growth of the school is due to the professional instruction, the mixed martial arts training and the family atmosphere. Mark and Kahleisha have five children, the oldest three have their Black Belts and the two younger ones are moving their way up the ranks. Two of their older children work at Dragon Martial Arts assisting in classes and seminars.

	Master Mark Burridge 5th Dan Black Belt Master Mark Burridge has over 20 years experience in Martial Arts, over the years he has been trained by instructors such as Mr Sok Pong Kim, Jinho Jo (TKD Australia), Ross Harnett (TKD Oh Do Kwan), Master Leigh Childs (ITF TKD in the UK), Steven Burridge (BMAA), John Donohue and Habby Heske (Extreme BJJ and Fight Club). He has extensive experience in a variety of martial arts including different styles of TKD, Muay Thai kickboxing, Hapkido, Aikido, Brazilian Ju Jitsu and weaponry. Mark has numerous championship wins, representing WA nationally from 1984 to 2000. Mark worked alongside his brother Mr Steven Burridge for 15 years within the Burridge Martial Arts Academies, managing many schools and teaching thousands of students the joys of martial arts. Mark is very well thought of and is highly respected throughout Australia, winning many instructor awards. He was the W.A technical director of  N.A.S (National All Styles) for a number of years and is well known for being an excellent referee and tournament director. Mark graduated to 5th Dan in the U.K in 2000; examiners were Master Frank Murphy 7th Dan TKD, Jon Jepson 6th Dan Karate, and Master Leigh Childs 5th Dan TKD. He is currently the Master Instructor at Dragon Martial Arts Albany and is preparing for his 6th Dan test in 2008.
Mrs Kahleisha Burridge 2nd Dan Black Belt Kahleisha is the owner/director of Dragon Martial Arts with over 8 years experience in different martial arts ranging from Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing, and BJJ. Kahleisha has trained under Master Sok Pong Kim, Mr Steven Burridge, Master Leigh Childs, John Donohue and Habby Heske. She has a number of championship wins under her belt from National All Styles and Burridge Martial Arts. She is currently preparing for her 3rd Dan exam set for 2008 and is a member of Dragons demonstration team. Kahleisha is the heart of Dragon doing most of the background work to keep Dragon flowing and offering the best service to all students, families and the community. Kahleisha has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and strongly believes in the personal growth side of martial arts training.
	Kira Burridge 1st Dan Black Belt Martial Arts has always been a part of Kira’s life, with her father and uncle being very well known and respected in the martial arts world, even before she was born. Kira started training seriously at the age of 11 and passed her 1st degree Black Belt in August 2005. Since then Kira has completed her certified instructor training and has gone from assisting to instructing, to helping run full-time Burridge Martial Arts Academies in Gosnells and Canning Vale. Kira was soon to follow Mark & Kahleisha in their move to Albany, joining the family team at Dragon Martial Arts Albany. Currently Kira teaches many of the children’s classes. In the martial Arts world of sport Kira’s specialty is Forms, more so than sparring. She has won gold in a few championships now with her strong stances and agile kicks. Kira is also a member of the Dragon Martial Arts Demonstration team, performing stunning defence scenarios that young ladies may be faced with in this day and age. Kira believes that self-defence and setting goals is very important in life. Currently her next goal is preparing for and passing her 2nd degree Black Belt exam due in 2008.
Sam Stockdale 1st Dan Black Belt Sam, Kahleisha’s son started Tae Kwon do at the age of 7 graduated to 1st Dan at 11 years of age. Sam's specialty is weapons, he is very good with both single and double Nunchucku and Kali sticks (Escrimas) but his preferred weapon is the Bo Staff.  Sam is now 14 and works casually at Dragon as an assistant instructor in the weapons and wrestling seminars. Sam is also part of the Dragon Martial Arts Demonstration team performing spectacular weapon displays.
