| Brief History: |
| Albany Gateway (Incorporated) is a community managed and owned community web portal that was developed in 1999 with funding from ITOL (Information Technology on Line) and was first launched on the 19th May 2000. |
| Objectives of Albany Gateway: |
a) To operate Albany Gateway, an internet portal that is managed and controlled by and for the residents, communities, organizations and businesses of the Great Southern Region of Western Australia.
b) To develop and manage site content for the benefit and promotion of residents, communities, organizations and businesses of the Great Southern. |

Albany Gateway is a recognised sponsor of the Albany Weekender Classic Motor Event providing a comprehensive web presence. This is the only web presence for this iconic event. |
| Future Directions: |
| Albany Gateway has a strong history, and continues to provide a great online service for the Great Southern. Nevertheless time and technology marked on and platform redevelopment planning is well underway to incorporate the latest features available with Web 2.0 functions. |
